e-Commerce is a thriving business in Switzerland and the potential for expansion is considerable especially in the Fashion Sector in Ticino. NetComm Suisse aims to help the industry harness this opportunity with training courses, among other initiatives, to provide businesses with the latest expertise they need to progress further in collaboration with SUPSI, USI and Franklin University. Participants of this particular NetComm Suisse – SUPSI course learned critical digital skills for Fashion and Retail such as: assessing the success factors for an e-Commerce project, establishing a strategic channel for entering the industry, interpreting sales data and performance communications, and effectively managing online sales and relationships.

Attendees of the event had the unique opportunity to hear from renowned e-Commerce experts such as NetComm Suisse’s General Director, Carlo Terreni, who discussed the latest on The Fashion Digital Lab and the Loomish Acceleration Program, and Federico Manno, the Digital Commerce Director at VF International, who shared perspectives on e-Commerce and digital platforms, while the CEO and Co-Founder of Skipsolabs, Carlo Soresina, held dialogues on leveraging open innovation models in the fashion industry.

In addition, the scholarship winning start-ups, Old Captain Co., Clara Swiss Tech, and Purest gave informative presentations on their work, made possible by the generous contributions of Quanta, Intarget and Loomish.

Yet it is thanks to VF International’s generous support that NetComm Suisse was able to make the afternoon possible. The exclusive location of the VF Headquarters, as well as the knowledge and support of so many talented instructors from VF International made the event both informative and unforgettable.

“As VF we are expanding investment in the digital area, and are coherently investing in talent into this field – states Monica Valseschini, VP HR VF International – Digital Talent is for us a Global necessity, that needs also a local pipeline. This is why we have started collaborating with NetComm Suisse, as we look at how we can best develop digital talent pools also in the Ticino region where we are headquartered.”

In Ticino, the ICT and fashion industry are experiencing exceptional growth, and are continually searching for new, innovative digital talents. That’s why NetComm Academy’s collaboration with VF International is so applicable—it provides an exciting opportunity to build a cutting-edge digital environment in Ticino, cultivating talented contributors to the Swiss e-Commerce marketplace.
